Welcome to the 2026-27 school year at Kennedy Elementary!

Dear Kennedy Elementary Families,  

 We are excited for the 2026-27 school year! I am glad your student and family will be part of our school community. At Kennedy Elementary, our focus is on active lessons and strong family partnerships. We all work as one team from school to home, preparing students for success in college, career and life.   

Important Information: 

  • Monday, August 17th is Back-to-School Night from 4:00-5:00 p.m. 

  • Wednesday, August 19th is the First Day of School for Kindergarten students ONLY  

  • Thursday, August 20th is the First Day of School for all 1st – 5th graders. 

  • Wednesday, August 26th is the First Day of School for all Early Childhood students 

Updated School and Breakfast Times:  8:50 to 4:05 with breakfast starting at 8:30 am. For student safety, do not drop students off until 8:30 as there is no one on duty to supervise.  

Please make every effort for students to arrive each day on time and stay the entire school day. Every minute matters and we know that students who have good attendance habits at school are more likely to be reading on grade level. 

Back-to-School Event 
Our Kennedy Elementary Back-to-School night will be Monday, August 17th from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. You can meet your student’s teacher, check out their classroom and visit with our office staff, nurse and afterschool program director if needed.

First Days of School  
In the first days of school, we will focus on learning routines and teaching high expectations for our students. You will see posters throughout our school with the positive behaviors we love to see. This evidence-based plan is called Multi-Tiered Systems of Support for Behavior, or MTSS-B. What it means for students and families is clearly defined expectations, celebrations for achieving expectations and learning opportunities when a student is struggling.
